AEC

The Aluminum Extruders Council (AEC), established in 1950, is an international association dedicated to helping manufacturers, engineers, architects, and others to discover why aluminum extrusion is the “better material process for better products." Specialized conferences, seminars, workshops, and meetings throughout the year provide an outlet where members can confront and solve today’s challenges. The Council’s 150 members represent primary aluminum producers and other industry suppliers in addition to aluminum extruders operating some 500 extrusion presses in more than 200 plants worldwide; these are the world’s leading manufacturers of extruded aluminum profiles—The Shapemakers.

Special consideration is given to safety and related functions. Safety is addressed in seminars, publications, as well as on the website, which offers a Paint Line Fire Safety section and a Web-based safety reporting system.

As an advocate representing the aluminum extrusion industry, AEC also provides expertise in outreach and advocacy to appropriate governmental agencies. Educating members, analyzing data, promoting benefits, and disseminating information are just a few means employed by TSO to help AEC members succeed in a competitive manufacturing environment while addressing the Council’s three main goals:
