Central to many associations’ mission is a certification program. TSO associates are well prepared to develop, manage and expand certification programs whether the focus is facilities, products, or people. Similarly, our associates stand ready to guide your association through the process of applying for accreditation and maintaining a corresponding quality assurance program. In addition, we can coordinate your organization’s representation at standards bodies such as ASTM or ANSI, helping to ensure that industry standards that affect your membership are developed and maintained appropriately.
From needs assessment and faculty recruitment to program execution and evaluation, TSO helps client organizations deliver meaningful adult education and training tailored to their audience. Whether through small-scale workshops and webinars or international conferences and symposia complete with published proceedings, TSO can manage site selection and contract negotiation, content development, promotion, logistics, and final assessment.
TSO has staff with proven leadership skills. Account Executives are capable of managing all aspects of nonprofit organizations’ affairs; a number of TSO associates have earned the prestigious Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation—the highest professional credential in the association-management industry.
All associations are governed by agreements between the organization and the state, as well as between the organization and its members. TSO associates stay apprised of current governance models, relevant legislation, and best practices. TSO works with client leaders to develop and execute strategies for presenting the association’s positions on key legal, legislative and regulatory issues to a variety of constituencies. TSO’s experience stems from its active role in managing press, public and government relations programs for current trade association clients. To assist in this work, TSO maintains relationships with several specialized law firms in Washington, D.C., who help guide and facilitate advocacy work on behalf of our client associations.
TSO is located in Chicago's northwest suburbs in a 5,100-square-foot office that is fully equipped to maximize efficiency and productivity. Established in 1975, TSO is currently staffed with 14+ professionals and support personnel serving seven organizations.
TSO provides professional member services to all of our clients, including overseeing the dues process, updating and maintaining clients’ databases, providing excellent customer service, and being the contact point for business-related inquiries and transactions.
The backbone of any organization is its members. TSO understands that retaining and gaining new members is a top priority, and one we don't take lightly. TSO actively seeks out additional potential members through outreach programs and respectfully maintains proper relationships with current members.

For many of our association clients, TSO confidentially collects, analyzes, aggregates and distributes industry data to members throughout the year. Alternatively, TSO works with an outside survey research firm to conduct surveys and related reports. Data are collected and distributed electronically. Survey results are available in a variety of convenient forms.
